Alastar, meet Alatar, the Prince of Shadows and my Captain of the Grey.”Īlastar: “A prince of Nagarythe you say? And where-from does he claim such lineage?”Īlith Anar: “He’s a descendant of Elanardris.”Īlastar: “Oh really? Colour me surprised.”Īlastar gripped Alatar’s shoulder. “Alatar, meet Prince Alastar, the White Lion of Chrace. The two shook hands and Alith introduced him properly. It’s the smile you smile when you want me to fight in another war. “You really know how to welcome an old friend, don’t you?” a voice came from that direction as a White Lion chariot appeared and its rider dismounted. Suddenly, Alith ran over to where Alatar had dropped his bow and fired a shot in the opposite direction. Alatar swung at Alith again only this time, Alith caught Alatar’s blade in mid-air with his hand.
“Terrified.” Alith Anar responded sarcastically before knocking Alatar’s arm and tapping his chest again with his practice sword. Perhaps you would perform better if I invited them to these sessions.”Īlatar doubled his efforts anew, developing into a proper duel as both fighters traded precise blows only to be parried by the other. Alith simply ducked beneath his arcing swing and tapped his sword on Alatar’s back.Īlith Anar: “Fancy swordplay. Perhaps you should train with me more often.”Īlatar simply grinned and relaunched his attack, removing his own practice sword and swiping toward Alith’s head in a flurry of spinning attacks. Spying a momentary opening he lunged forward and tapped Alatar’s’ belly with the tip of his wooden sword.Īlith Anar: “You’re getting fat. Alatar fired another, only for the Shadow King to tilt his head to avoid one that shot, before side-stepping to avoid another. Alatar fired an arrow at his teacher while Alith simply deflected it with a wooden training sword. Alith Anar stood in the ruins of an ivy-covered temple on a cliff above the sea, sparring with his friend and ally, Prince Alatar.
